About Me

Hi! I’m Laura. Thanks for stopping by.

I am a 23-year-old Colorado native living in the south. I’ve been married to my wonderful husband Mitch for a little over a year. We currently don’t have any children, but we do have two fluffy cats named Obi and Mort!

Obi is a flame point siamese. My college roommate rescued him from a dumpster at an ice cream shop!
We’re not sure what breed Mort is, but he’s super fluffy and acts like a ragdoll! We rescued him from a local animal shelter.

Much like the variety of topics you’ll find in this blog, I majored in a variety of areas in college. I chose to focus on Graphic Design and Illustration, English/Literature, and Biblical Studies. I’ve always had a passion for drawing and creating art, and I also wanted to better my writing skills and knowledge of literature. As a devout Christian, it also never hurts to study God’s word as much as possible in a university setting! My time in college was very stressful and chaotic, but it was also a wonderful time of learning and growing in my education and faith.

My husband and I made the decision to go vegan back in December 2016, and we are loving every minute of it!  The health benefits have been fantastic (we’ve both struggled with various health issues in the past) and we have so much peace of mind knowing we’re doing something positive for the environment around us.  Not to mention it does wonders for our bank account! I hope to share many of our recipes and discoveries with you all along the way!

Being vegan doesn’t mean you only have to eat salad!

Some other hobbies I enjoy doing on the side include bullet journaling, interior decorating, fun crafts, collecting/observing gemstones, and I’m *trying* to get into exercising more often. Basically there are so many things I want to do and try, and I tend to do all of them in spurts.  At the end of my life, I want to feel like I not only did my best to follow God’s plan, but that I also got to experience little joys here and there when I could!

“Seeking Arrows”

I chose the name “Seeking Arrows” for this blog because I wanted something that focused on the concept of ambition.  I tend to be very ambitious and want to try new things all the time, which is kind of surprising considering how introverted I am!  Although I wouldn’t say I like to take risks, I enjoy getting my feet wet in different hobbies I find interesting.  When talking about arrows, I think of aiming an arrow toward the desired target, which would be joy.  I want to find joy in everything I do, and I want to do it for God.  The word “seeking” simply means that no matter where the arrow of ambition flies, it should continuously seek out the desired target and not go astray.  Thus the slogan, “aim high – seek joy.”

This concept reminds me of a common but favorite verse of many, and that is Proverbs 3:5-6:

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

~ Proverbs 3:5-6 (NASB)

No matter what you or I set our minds to, if we can keep our trust in God, our lives will be working for his good.  No matter how high we aim in our ambitions, if we continue to have faith in God, we will find joy in him.

My intention for this blog is to share the things I enjoy with you, as well as to build relationships with others who have goals and ambitions too!  Be sure to leave a comment to say hi, and I hope you enjoy your time here!

~Laura <3
